“Fireside Family” fibula
Green fibula “Fireside Family”
Medieval fibula with green enamel
Our “Fireside Family” collection draws attention by its simplicity. You will not find exquisite designs in the tunics, dresses, and shirts we included in it. This time, we kept to Medieval fashion, to the way farmers and tradesmen looked in the XI-XV centuries. However, besides clothes, people paid quite much attention to accessories. Small details play a big role in all times. Therefore, if you would like to make your outfit more interesting, find matching belts, bags, or jewelry. The “Fireside Family” fibula is a great example of jewelry that would match your Medieval look perfectly.
The brass fibula is made with green enamel and has the design that could be used by Goths, Visigoths, Angles, and Saxons. Some of these tribes first appeared in the Scandinavians and moved down through European countries to the Roman Empire. They were ancestors of Spanish and Portuguese people who spent time fighting in wars. In their civil life, they were interested in the applied art. Many examples of such art relate to religion. Their tressures include crosses, diadems, crowns, and gemstones. Besides, there were some accessories such as fibulas, brooches, and necklaces. First, they made them of bronze and decorated with gemstones, glass, and enamel. Later, they started to use more elaborated Byzantine style to create such items.
While working on our fibula, we followed earlier designs. It looks just like historical exhibits you can find in museum. We even created it in such a way that its edges are not perfectly even so that they resemble Medieval troves better. Find the best way to wear our brass fibula with your Medieval outfits.
