Discounted XV-XVI century blackened ornamental weapon. Ready to ship!
Behind every great fighter is a great sword, and this one is sure to catch the eye of your friends and foes alike! When creating this piece for our “Evening Star” collection, we knew that we wanted to craft something that looked brutal and deadly, but also held a certain beauty. Inspired by weapons from the XV-XVI centuries, its a wonderful blend of historical inspiration and creative liberty, giving you a truly unique look.
This sword is the middle ground between an arming sword and a longsword. These were both very common weapons used by different types of fighters in the XV-XVI centuries, from your regular man-at-arms to a noble knight. During this time period, swords became much more common (unlike during the Viking era when they were incredibly expensive and rare). This particular sword, though, is quite beautiful so we expect the kind of character who might wield it would be more on the wealthy side of the medieval social classes, given the fine craftsmanship and extravagant scabbard.
This is the most customisable scabbard we have ever created. We wanted to give our customers a way to make the weapon truly their own, so we’ve given you many different options regarding aesthetic finish on the scabbard. A soft leather lining inside is protected by 1mm stainless steel, blackened spring steel, or brassed stainless steel depending on which material you choose. You have the option of material finish (matte or polished), and can also opt for a leather wrapped scabbard as well. The trim around the outside can be stainless or brass, and it’s up to you if you choose to have laser-cut accents or leave it plain.
This sword has a geometric pommel followed by a roomy hilt that gives you enough space to either use the sword one handed, or hand-and-a-half. From there, there are slightly curved quillons with a ring hilt, followed by a fullered blade with a ricasso to add to the look. This is a very well made sword crafted from 1.4mm thick blackened steel alloy with a leather wrapped hilt for comfort. The "blade" has a wonderful blued shade to it that turns out amazing in photos and looks great.
If you’re hoping to cut down your enemies with the sword, unfortunately it isn’t going to be much help because it is purely ornamental. We imagine it will be perfect in your home as a display piece on a wall, or as a prop in a theatre production or film, but it is not actually made to be used in martial arts. The sword is blunt, hollow, and cannot be sharpened or honed to be used for other purposes. Please keep in mind though that it is still made from real steel, and therefore can cause damage to people or property if used in an unsafe manner.
