Finger gauntlets extra protection plates

Despite an adequate protection offered by our finger gauntlets, encounters with heavy weapon still may pose a risk of trauma. Small rondels or “finger bucklers” of various shapes and sizes appears in the late XIII - early XIV century — to provide additional protection to the hand — to counter the advancement of weapon in that period.

Finger bucklers retained their popularity for the next three hundred years, even after the introduction of steel gauntlets, especially in the areas where bucket-hilt swords were less popular or the usual bucklers, tarches and rodelos were too cumbersome to carry.

Here we are proud to present a pair of finger bucklers or rondels made as a companion piece to our “The King's Guard” armor.

This pair of nice little historical pieces are offering additional protection for your finger gauntlets. Elegantly looking and historically accurate, these rondels will serve as extra protection when you need it. When you feel that fight may be tough — take your rondels and put them over your gauntlets.

Great for SCA fighters, reenactments and WMA/Renaissance practice – especially for the weapons like messer, saber or arming sword where speed is essential, but the an extra protection without sacrificing agility would be more then welcomed.
