Pauldrons “Bird of Prey”

Styled after the late 14th - early 15th centuries, these pauldrons are completely adapted for full-contact medieval combat. Given that the hero of our new harness “Bird of Prey” belongs to knightly stratum - judging by his richly ornated splint armor - we decided to endow him with a reliable shoulder protection against polearm attacks coming from below.

The main cup of the pauldrons is made of 1.5 mm (16 ga) stainless steel to prevent rusting and reinforced with rolled edging, which provides high impact resistance. These feature excellent articulation - flexibility of the upper segment is achieved with movable rivets.

Possess projecting vertical elements, named 'gardbraces' or 'swordbreakers'. Their smooth, rounded surfaces ensure that hits will glance. Any blow targeting the neck or clavicle would transfer most of its kinetic energy to the pauldron, without damaging the body tissue. Instead of catching the full energy of the lance, the swordbreakers would reflect the impact, allowing the lance to slide off innocuously.

Sizing of the pauldrons is carried out individually, taking into account personal measurements. Includes buckled leather upper arm strap and a special leather strap for fastening to the gorget with a pin. Their shape is beautiful in itself, so no additional decorations this time! Designed especially for steel weapon training and fighting.
