Live Action Role Play is a type of sport or role-playing game practiced all over the world. It often takes inspiration from fantastical sources, but many LARPs also have historical aspects as well. Many LARPs use real metal armor and engage in medieval combat, but the main difference between it and other medieval hobbies is that LARPers use foam weapons instead of metal, plastic, or rattan. LARP weapons often have fiberglass cores to give them rigidity and structural integrity, with the rest of the item crafted from foam.

The shape of this sword is traditionally Viking age. It is meant to be used in one hand so it has a short grip that fits well into the palm of your hand, small quillions, and a nicely shaped pommel. The shape of the sword itself is quite straight, coming to a gently rounded point at the end. All of the designs on this sword were designed and crafted in-house by our team of designers, including the artistic knotwork.

The most noticeable aspects of this sword are the beautiful designs running up the blade, on the quillions, and on the pommel. Just because this is a LARP weapon doesn’t mean it has to look boring or less magnificent than our real swords! Viking knotwork that shows a sea voyage, complete with sea monsters and a longship, twists its way up the blade and back down the other side. This effect mimics how etching would look on a real sword. Similar designs can be found on the quillons and pommel, making the whole piece very cohesive.
