“Cassius” Pugio
Roman Centurion Decorative Dagger
“Cassius” Pugio
Roman Centurion Decorative Dagger
When it comes to ancient civilizations, no one inspires us more than the Romans. They have an incredibly strong aesthetic that is bold and powerful, as well as very well preserved artifacts and written records, which make research much easier! Our “Cassius” collection is our first adventure in Roman times, and this beautiful pugio is the first dagger from this era we have created. The pugio was a very basic dagger, standard issue for members of the Roman military. It was often accompanied by a Gladius as the main weapon or a spear. The dagger was meant for close combat when you have no other choice.
Please note that this is not actually a functional dagger, nor is it a knife. It is a purely decorative weapon intended to be worn on your belt for the look, or posed with in a photo shoot. You will not be able to sharpen it to a point, either - the blade itself is hollow, meaning it can never be a dagger.
This dagger is truly a show piece. We wanted it to be ceremonial but still deadly looking. The blade is a typical Pug shape, starting with a point and growing wider at the base. The whole blade ends up being much more triangular in shape than a traditional European medieval dagger. The blade is made from 1.5mm stainless steel welded together to be hollow in the middle. The blade meets the guard with a hefty chunk of brass, followed by a more elegant wooden handle. The handle has been given a beautiful finish, with brass accents adding the final touch.
All materials used in the crafting of this dagger are high quality, and great attention has been put into every single detail. The stainless steel blade means that it won’t rust, and will require much less care than a mild steel dagger. It feels fantastic in your hand, like a real hero!
Once this dagger is delivered to you, the responsibility is in your hands. We recommend keeping it stored away from children and animals because although it is not a real dagger, it is still hefty and made of metal and can harm people or property.

Important note: the only way to use the item is to use it as an appearance piece. This dagger is not a weapon, it can't be sharpened and must be used only in places where it is safe: away from children and any other people and objects that may be accidentally harmed. Please use it responsibly and take into account that by buying this piece you confirm that you agree to take full responsibility for your safety and safety of other people that may be potentially harmed.
