“Cassius” Pugio with Sheath
Roman Decorative Dagger and Scabbard
“Cassius” Pugio with Sheath
Roman Centurion Decorative Dagger and Scabbard
“Cassius” is our first collection based on the Roman era, and we couldn’t be happier to present you with this stunning Pugio! When it came to deciding an ancient civilization to research and explore, there was basically no questions about which direction we would be taking it in. The Roman aesthetic is bold, with beautiful, basic shapes and stunning craftsmanship. As well as this, it’s hard to look past the fact that the Romans were amazing record keepers, preserving a huge amount of information and artifacts, which makes our life much easier! This type of dagger would have been carried by any Roman soldier and can be viewed as a “standard issue” weapon that would be used as a last resort in a fight.
This is not actually a functional dagger, but a decoration piece. It cannot be used to cut or stab and is blunt on all edges. You will not be able to hone it to an edge due to the hollow blade, so when ordering this item please keep in mind that it was created to be displayed and posed with in photoshoots, not for committing assassinations.
We designed this dagger to be a beautiful showpiece that you will be proud to wear. It still has a brutal look to it, but when combined with the matching sheath it is undeniably gorgeous. The blade is typical to the shape of a pugio, with a nice point at the top that grows quite a bit wider by the time it meets the guard. It is welded from stainless steel, so it will resist rust and stay nice and shiny. The guard is a nice hefty chunk of brass, which connects with a considerably more refined wooden handle. The whole dagger has a good, heavy feel in your hand.
The matching sheath is utterly magnificently, and honestly some of our best work yet. The biggest part of it is a piece of brass that has been ornately etched with imagery and shapes found in Roman art. The whole piece has a lovely depth to it and is very nicely finished to make sure all of the designs stand out. A stainless steel core is used to make sure that the dagger fits the sheath like a glove - and makes a very satisfying sound when it is drawn! On the outside of the sheath are rings that strapping is looped through, with slots in the top that will allow you to lace it through a belt.
Even though this is a decorative weapon, we still ask that you treat it with respect. Store it away from animals and children, and do not swing it at anyone! Remember that it is still made from heavy materials and even though it is not sharp, it can still cause damage.

I am so pleased with the quality and the design. I was blown away by the details and how beautiful it looked in person once I received it. It looked great online but once you see it in person it’s even better. Do not hesitate to make a purchase with Armstreet. You will not be disappointed.
