Are you ready to bring the whole family along to medieval events? We’ve had so many requests for matching children’s clothing, and we’ve finally decided to release a whole line of beautiful ArmStreet clothing made especially for kids! All of these items have been completely designed from scratch to make sure they fit children perfectly and tested on our own kids to make sure they’re comfy and look cool. We love bringing our littles ones along to events with us, and are excited to share these items that make it easier than ever before to look awesome and have fun!

These pants have no specific historical design, but we’ve made them so that they look nice with medieval clothing and don’t appear out of place. They’re simple, made from historical textiles, and look fantastic with a tunic. These pants do up at the waist with a drawstring and are 3/4 length. They’re straight-legged and have lots of room at the hips to allow for running, jumping, sword fighting, and whatever kind of adventure you go on. They aren't made from knitted or sweatpants material, though, so keep in mind that though they do allow for movement, they will not stretch in the same way as modern athletic pants. At the bottom is a lovely little fringe that makes them look fantastic and adds a little bit of fun to the whole look. Please note that the fringe is added to the bottom of the hem and not the result of an unfinished edge!

We chose to make these pants from the same 100% flax linen that we use for our adult clothing and dresses. This is because it’s a high-quality fabric, durable, historical, and breathable. Honestly, we think that linen is the best thing ever, and it makes a very good layer underneath other clothing as well because it wicks sweat and keeps you cool. Even though it starts out a little bit starchy, even after wear it starts to warm up and become incredibly soft and is a pleasure to wear.

Keep in mind that medieval clothes fit a little bit differently from modern clothes. We advise having a conversation with your child before they wear them so that they know that they will feel more like thick, non-stretch jeans opposed to endlessly stretchy jersey sweatpants. We always find that talking about it and making sure they’re prepared for the different styles of fashion makes them more comfortable and confident in the clothes.
