Clover Fibula “Leprechaun”
Celtic good luck pin with enamel
It is difficult not to fall absolutely in love with the rolling green hills of Ireland. There’s something incredibly romantic and enticing about the rich folklore, and the relationship that Celtic people have with magic and mythology. It is the birthplace of fairies – though, not the friendly kind you’re likely to find in children’s books today.
This fantastic pin is a part of a new collection inspired by the history of medieval Ireland and the fantastic creatures you hear of in folktales, particularly the leprechaun. We have used a combination of historical patterns and our own imaginations to create a series of beautiful items that we feel carry the spirit of the Celts.
This little pin is made with brass and enamel. The brass frame has been masterfully laser-cut and finished, before being filled in with enamel, which can either be transparent or opaque, depending on the look you would like to go for. The color we have used is a magnificent green, which really pops against the brass. Enameling is a technology that we have perfected recently, after bringing a jewelry expert onto our team. Adding enamel to our pieces brings a much-needed burst of color and really makes them show-stopping!
The shape of this fibula is reminiscent of that of a clover. Four-leafed clovers have been associated with superstition and good luck for centuries. They are much more difficult to find and we know that many people will have memories of hunting for them as children. With this pin, you can carry that luck with you wherever you go! This design is ArmStreet exclusive, made by one of our artists after research into the shapes and patterns found in Celtic knotwork.
