Cloak pin “Fireside Family"
Medieval cape fibula brooch
Medieval cloak pin “Fireside Family”
Medieval brass fibula with enamel
In Medieval times, people appreciated the functionality of their garments. Their ancestors protected themselves from cold weather with wool. But thousands of years later, people build textile industries and used linen and cotton. However, even with developing industries, making fitting clothes was difficult. Then, people used jewelry. When it was cold, and people had to come back home late in the evening or go somewhere early in the morning, capes and coats were necessary. But at that time, they looked just like pieces of material without buttons or zippers. In order to fasten overgarments, people started to use fibulas.
We decided to include such a useful item in our “Fireside Family” collection. Following its main idea, we wanted to make the fibula simple, beautiful, and functional. The brooch’s design is perfect for those who like the history of different tribes and are interested in their culture. During the Migration Period, people did not have time to elaborate on designs during the production of household items. In museums, you can find examples of such fibulas. Without completely even edges, they have a very natural look.
Our “Fireside Family” brass fibula looks just like these artefacts but with a unique ArmStreet design. Our blacksmiths complete laser cutting and then our jewelry studio finishes the brooch. Each step of production is taken with care to ensure the best quality.
Find your own way to use the fibula and combine it with your favorite garments.

A beautiful piece. The brass fibula is exactly how I thought it would be. Well done.
