Like many items in the “Viking” and “Shieldmaiden” collections, it has no exact historical prototype, but draws inspiration from archeological findings and historical references. Cloak clasps were an important part of Viking outfits, as their outwear (as well as many other pieces of ancient wardrobe) were pretty simple. A fibula was the easiest way to turn a woolen blanket or a piece of fur into a cloak and be protected from the elements.
