We have a couple of HEMA fencers on board, so HEMA gear is not just another market for us! This jacket is designed in collaboration with "Bureviy", a young but already well-known manufacturer in Ukraine, led by two skilled fencers who were also involved in the development and manufacture of military-grade equipment. On ArmStreet's side – design suggestions, certification, and quality assurance support this brilliant product.
It is a multi-purpose HEMA jacket, thick enough for a longsword if you choose a balance between protection and flexibility rather than a bulky but safer option. It is perfect for most one-handed weapons and was tested in a rough environment of Ukrainian and Eastern European tournaments and open sparrings. It looks good but what's most important it feels good – the fit and the balance of free space are just perfect.
The jacket is made of synthetic heavy-duty breathable sport gear-oriented fabric, with cotton batting and a layer of 350N fabric inside, and a 3D antiseptic mesh lining. While testing different fabrics for puncture resistance, we bought a standard SCA puncture testing device so we pre-test our gambesons for the US market too.
It passes all the tests not only formally but also emotionally. You put it on and you immediately feel well and comfortable and ready for any challenge. Equip it with one of our protective plastic kits and you're ready to rock!
Pay attention to the high waist, back fold, and extra space at the elbows - this jacket looks great and slim fit but provides all the necessary flexibility for you as a fencer. We are pretty sure this jacket will be loved, by you personally and by the swordplay community as much as all our fencers immediately fell in love with the design and fit.
This is a multi-purpose gambeson - it's lightweight and flexible enough to play with lighter weapons. However, we've been testing it as a main full-contact gambeson for saber and long-sword as well, and it works just fine. It's not too thick but multiple layers make it dense enough for heavy sparring, especially if you have a proper kit of plastic gear.

I am a big and tall giant, is there any customizable Gambesons? I am a 7XLT in the US. I just need a gambeson, elbows, and a gorget to finish my armor.

Design: I'm not the biggest fan of Renaissance jackets, mostly choosing something more Eastern and less noble. Fit: ArmStreet's size M fits me perfectly, the jacket is extremely well made in terms of fit and I practically feel no restrictions even in comparison to my previous lighter jacket. In comparison to the standard long-sword jackets it's a dream. I also like that the lower part of the sleeve is more or less slim-fit so there is no extra fabric under arm-gaurds Features. It has a breezeable 3D mech inside and it also has small holes on the back so the back breazes. It seems they work. It has a micro-velcro on the front which works better than a normal velcro and the "hooks" side doesn't destroy the fabric on the opposite. I like it a lot. I always had a problem with a neck, as it always feels restrictive to have a sandvich of a collar, a gorget and a bib. This collar is fine, I don't know why. It seems it has a different angle to the jacket. Thickness. I'm a competitive fencer so I'm OK about some beating. The jacket is perfect for everything (I do a side-sword, saber and a feder), for the long-sword it depends. It is definitely not a "tank"- grade jacket, I'd say it is on the lighter end of what's OK for a feder. For me it's a perfect balance though.
