All the battle-hardened reenactors are aware of ribbed armor benefits. The fact is that shaped stiffening ribs provide additional rigidity to any armour piece without increasing its weight. Tired of nonrepairable dints on your bracers coming from the heavy attacks? It's time to end with this!

Let’s make it clear: each metal plate is easier to bend across than along its surface. Therefore, to increase its stiffness, i.e. resistance to deformation caused by external impact, the armour can be accomplished with ribs longwise the intended bending. Material consumption is irrelevant while сreating stiffeners, but requires laborious work of highly skilled artisans. Still, the result is worth it.

Despite their fantasy nature, these ribbed bracers have excellent defensive properties. An inherent elongated shape of the bazubands provides elbow protection, leather scalloped edgings prevent chafing, and thick leather buckled straps securely hold the bracers in place. Ideal for both LARP and SCA, these perfectly match our fluted elbows, fluted knee cops, ribbed pauldrons as well as gorget and spaulders set.
