Gorget Armor “Morning Star”
Spring steel neck protection armour with brass finish
Our “Morning Star” collection is more than just good looks – everything is also perfectly functional and ready to accompany you into battle. Made to be light and maneuverable, we wanted to make armor that would move with you and not unnecessarily encumber you. These lightweight spring steel pieces will empower you to fight harder, feel safer, and defeat all of your enemies with ease!
If you’re wondering where we found inspiration, the answer would have to be the XV century. During that time period, armor began to be more fitted, and any knight worth any money would have a wonderfully articulated harness that fits perfectly to their body. Sleek and powerful, the aesthetic of XV century armor is simply beautiful. Even though “Morning Star” isn’t strictly historical, it’s easy to follow where it was inspired from.
This listing is for a gorget, which is commonly used as neck protection. It covers your neck and collar bones, and a bit of your upper neck, and has been forged to anatomically fit the shape of your body and is quite comfortable. It is easy to put on and take off, with a locking pin mechanism on one side and a sturdy hinge on the other. The bottom half consists of two pieces of spring steel which are 1.2mm thick, with a 1mm thick floating articulated collar above it.
We’re really excited about the material we’ve used for this gorget: spring steel. Because spring steel is so much stronger than mild or stainless steel, it’s easy for us to make armor a bit thinner and therefore lighter than we would with other materials. Even though it’s a more technically difficult material to work with, it’s worth it because the feedback from our customers has been amazing. As a finishing touch, it has been brushed with brass in order to get a wonderful golden finish that is sure to stand out.
This is a very well crafted item with many luxurious details, such as leather edging and solid brass rivets. All of the materials used are high quality and everything has been solidly forged and carefully finished. If you’re looking for a silver gorget, we can also make this gorget in silver.

IMPORTANT: To fit correctly and prevent injury, a suit of armour must be accurately built to the measurements of the person wearing it. PLEASE take all measurements over either the gambeson or under-padding you are planning to wear with this armour. The sole exception is for persons buying armour and padding together, ArmStreet will then make the proper size adjustments for the armour based on the measurements provided for the padding.
