Our “Stars of Steel” collection is nothing short of magnificent, as female medieval armor should be! As a company, ArmStreet has many women who fight in HEMA, LARP, SCA, Reenactment, and other forms of heavy combat, so we understand better than anyone how difficult it can be to find good armor to fit our bodies. This collection is beautifully made, looks amazing, and is incredibly functional – to the extent that it’s probably one of the best pieces of armor we’ve ever created.
The differentiating factor that makes this collection so above and beyond anything we’ve made before is the material: super light and strong spring steel. The steel is still thick enough to be protective, but thinner than your average stainless steel or mild steel set of armor due to the extra structural integrity of the material. This means we can make female LARP armor, SCA legal helmets and gauntlets, and other pieces that are much lighter than our previous collections.
This collection of female knight armor has taken countless tests, design iterations, and failures in order to get it right. Even though female armor shouldn’t look too different from men’s, we still had to work with the difference in body types to create something that is comfortable as well as having that signature ArmStreet stylish flair. Even though this collection may not be a strict work of historical reenactment, it was still heavily inspired by harnesses seen in the late XIV-XV century, which you’ll notice in design elements such as the well-articulated limbs and sleek design.
Real female armor should be empowering, functional, and protective. Our armor is also customizable, giving you choices between shiny silver steel, blackened steel, as well as a golden brass finish. There are a few choices for pauldrons and the type of female chest armor you choose. Though this whole collection is inspired by historical armor, we took into account SCA female armor, LARP, and other medieval combat hobbies as well before deciding on a design.
