“Morning Star” Spring Steel Cuisses

Our “Morning Star” collection is a new set of armor designed for the female body. This armor is made to move with you like a sidekick, instead of being something cumbersome you have to lug around. Powerful, strong, and lightweight, this set is made to make you feel utterly unstoppable, and will no double aid you in conquering any and all enemies you may encounter.

These cuisses are inspired by late XIV transitional leg harnesses. They have slightly smaller fans that you might see in slightly later XV century designs, and look very sleek and understated.

The cuisses protect you from your upper thigh down to just below the knee, and are completely attached together. There is the option to also purchase a greave to protect the bottom of your leg, but this listing is only for the cuisses. There is one main plate that protects your thigh, riveted to two articulated panels that lead into the knee cops. From the knee cops there are three further plates. The fans are big enough to give protection to the side and back of your knee, but are not extravagant – other than the fact, of course, that the whole knee portion is brushed brass! To attach these legs, there are holes in the top leather panel to pass lacing through, and they can be tied to an arming belt or pourpoint.

Crafted from a material that is new to our workshop – spring steel – these are some of the most functional, lightweight cuisses you’re ever going to find. Spring steel has the ability to be much thinner than mild steel or stainless steel, purely because it’s so strong. Thing means that we can make our armor lighter and more maneuverable without sacrificing the much-needed protection.

We’ve used all premium fitting on these luxurious cuisses, including high-quality white leather, solid rivets that have been securely peened, cast brass buckles, and other little touches that make them truly luxurious.

If you’re not a fan of the brassed knee cop, we can also make a completely silver leg harness instead or with blackened spring steel knee cops.

IMPORTANT: To fit correctly and prevent injury, a suit of armour must be accurately built to the measurements of the person wearing it. PLEASE take all measurements over either the gambeson or under-padding you are planning to wear with this armour. The sole exception is for persons buying armour and padding together, ArmStreet will then make the proper size adjustments for the armour based on the measurements provided for the padding.
