“Morning Star” Brassed Greaves armor

Shin protection made from brass plated spring steel

The leg portion of this armor set is loosely inspired by the XV century armor, which had a sleek aesthetic. We imagine these to be the greaves of a knight or fighter with a lot of money to spare on fitted, anatomically shaped armor. The shape of these greaves hugs your shins and look great on their own, and even better when combined with the matching cuisses for a full leg harness.

The greaves start just below your knee and extend down to the top of your foot, dipping down to protect your ankles at the side. They have a ridge down the front that makes them fit better, and are just generally a great piece of armor.

These greaves are forged from spring steel, which is a difficult material to work with but absolutely worth it because of the benefits. We are able to make armor much thinner than we would be able to with mild or stainless steel, which means that it ends up being lighter while still offering the same protection. As an added bonus, they have been brushed with brass which gives them a wonderful golden tone to accent the rest of your armor.

We’ve constructed these with the finest materials available to us, which includes white leather edging the sides and for straps, solid brass rivets, cast brass buckles as well as 1.2mm spring steel.

PLEASE take all measurements over either the gambeson or under-padding you are planning to wear with this armour. The sole exception is for persons buying armour and padding together, ArmStreet will then make the proper size adjustments for the armour based on the measurements provided for the padding.
