Linen quilted padded armor jacket
“Sellsword” Short Medieval Two-color Gambeson
Linen quilted padded armor jacket
For many years, we’ve been making gambesons for a wide range of sword-fighting formats and communities. We are constantly trying to improve our gear — both in cut and fit and in technology and visual design.
To achieve this, we regularly test our gear with fighters from different sports and hobbies, and we always try to take their opinion and wishes into account. This is exactly how the design of this short, functional, quilted jacket was born.
It’s a comfortable and attractive piece that combines the advantages of an advanced modern cut with a distinctly medieval aesthetic. This is a short, fitted jacket with elegant anatomical quilting that creates a striking “hourglass” silhouette with practically architectural lines. The two-part sleeve and generous gusset give the arm virtually full freedom of movement, so the gambeson definitely won’t restrict your movements. The gambeson fastens with laced ties and loops neatly hidden in the front overlap.
The typical medieval two-color layout lets you show your color preferences, your house, your clan, or your team colors without saying a word. The gambeson also features leather attachment points for armor parts on the shoulders and sleeves. A long slit on the sleeve allows you to wrap it very tightly to fit your arm when putting on a close-fitting metal vambrace.
