XV Century Sallet “The Kingmaker”
A functional helmet fit for nobility
15th Century Sallet “The Kingmaker”
A functional helmet fit for nobility
There is no helmet more quintessentially “15th Century” than the sallet – footmen and knights alike donned these fantastic pieces of equipment as they marched to war together. But The Kingmaker isn’t just any sallet – this work of art combines historical beauty with our fourteen years of manufacturing expertise to create a magnificent helmet fit for a noble. We took the simplicity of the sallet shape and added small details to make a helmet befitting a champion, which can be worn on its own or combined with our Kingmaker Bevor for more protection during heavier fighting. 2 mm stainless steel construction makes this a formidable option for combat, while the modern convenience of a locking pin blends in well with the aesthetic whilst giving you the option to safely keep the visor raised.
As with the rest of our Kingmaker set, the bottom edge of this helmet is adorned with stainless steel roping and an intricate brass border, held on by robust brass rivets. A historically inspired cast brass flower rivet decorates the side of this helmet, having the functional role of attaching the visor as well as adding to the overall beauty. Even when you sweat into this helmet you won’t have to worry as much about the threat of corrosion – brass and stainless steel mean that it will serve you well without a huge amount of maintenance.
This helmet comes pre-padded and ready for battle, so please keep that in mind when taking measurements. Please note, while the photos show our sallet with the matching bevor, it is not included.

Wonderful. Well made, classic. Faat delivery too
About how thick is the padding? Also does the padding just sit inside or is is attached somehow (glued? sewn?)?
The padding is riveted to the helmet. It is about couple of cm thick, but we can make it thin upon request.
I have just received my Sallet and I have to say, the helmet exceeds all expectations. The craftsmanship is excellent; this is a solid well constructed helmet that not only fits well but looks absolutely fantastic. This XV century Sallet is truly a work of art, as beautiful as it is functional. If anybody out there is looking for a good Sallet for a XV century armour kit, look no further, this is it.
