Medieval square women's Cow Mouth shoes made of natural suede

Throughout centuries of folklore, footwear has been an essential part of many iconic characters. From Cinderella to The Wizard of Oz, stories have paid special attention to describing the appearance and standout qualities of the particular footwear. For the bright persona of the Queen of the Patch wearing the one-of-a-kind “Pumpkin Dress" from our last year's Halloween update, there is only one pair of shoes that is a perfect match. What do you see when you look at the photos? The missing puzzle piece for the Pumpkin Dress look, a generic witch costume accessory, the colors of autumn, or maybe the darkest night of the year with the candlelight flames piercing through it?

A comfortable pattern and high-quality natural materials unite in a remarkable shoe design suitable for a gothic witch costume. We drew inspiration from German history and used the "Cow Mouth" design – already stunning on its own, but elevated with our fine craftsmanship and eye-catching contrasts. Like much of ArmStreet's footwear, this looks medieval but still offers modern comforts. Though traditionally medieval shoes were flat, we use a shoelast that provides our clients with a more familiar feel. The “Cow Mouth” or duckbill shoes were popular in the 16th century in all social layers and for both men and women. The main characteristic of this style was the square toe, in contrast to earlier styles of pointed shoes.

The shoe is made from natural suede. We used contrasting fine natural leather to emphasize the cutouts at the front of the shoe, giving you more freedom to make these shoes truly unique!
