This gown has no historical prototype, however the silhouette and the style of finishing corresponds to the latter half of the XIVth century. As the inspiration of the pattern the fit of the Norman dress from the Greenlandic excavation was taken, which has been dated from that particular period.
The dress is realized completely from the high quality dense woolen cloth and is finished with dual trims of our own design.
The trim around the neckline and on the belt is manually embroidered with bugle beads and beads. The belt ends up with the beaded fringe.
The dress comes with the velvet alms purse embroidered with beads as well.
Embroidery ornament at the purse avails of the same theme that the trim ornament.
Components:
Sleeveless dress. It has lacing on each side and requires precise measurements since it has very slight fitting gap.
There are cut-outs finished with the trim on the skirt, so called by contemporaries "hell windows".
Fair lady's skirt the days had to be of floor-length according to all rules and fashions, hiding any allusion to existence of the legs under it and essentially complicating the walking process. Ladies passed their hands through these "windows" and upbeared the front of the skirt while walking.
Removable sleeves. They are attached to the dress with the help of linen lacing sewed in the sleeve top. Sleeves have plenty of small buttons to achieve the supreme fit and are decorated with the narrow trim.
The belt has a decorative flowing element in front. It is worn at hips according to the XIVth century fashion and fastens with the lacing at the back.
The alms purse - velvet, embroidery, silvery tassels. It can be attached to the belt.
Shawl and turban are not included, but the shawl can be made upon request for extra charge.
Please note that dark blue wool has a very dark shade, that may appear black under electric light indoors.

I was wondering, can this dress be made in lighter fabrics such as linen or cotton, while still staying the same color? Wool is just too warm for where I live. Also, is there any difference, style wise, between this dress and your green sleeves dress? I've looked and looked and I can't find any difference. In the images for "Medieval Fantasy Wool Dress 'Red Sleeves'" there are several of the model wearing a white wimple but I didn't see this listed in the description as being included or in the "Hats, vests, other parts" section. Is this as simple as a large trimmed white rectangle? How exactly did you fold the wimple to achieve that look?
Yes, it's just a veil made of thin white linen with trim. We can make it for $75 + $14 (shipping).
To fold it properly cover your head with the veil, drop it underneath the chin, across the throat, then pin the ends at the crown of the head.
BEAUTIFUL! First I would like to say this dress does have some historical basis in 14th and early 15th century design with a wonderful fantasy flair. Second is it possible to order this gown (or any others) with out the trim? I think if I were to order this I would want to make some wool trim to go on it.
Of course, all of our garments can be made w/o trim.
