This is my favorite of the different chemises. I have it in black, and will get it in white, as well. Very comfortable under a variety of dresses.

I just received my chemise in black, and I am in love! It's lightweight, soft, and dramatic. The stitching is quality, and the pattern is well crafted. It's comfortable, and well tailored. Received this chemise and have been kicking myself for waiting so long to order! Although I didn't have this intention when ordering, I've been wearing it as a regular nightgown/housegown. The fit is incredible! I used the measuring guide, and even though I was nervous to order a size 6 (I typically wear US size 10-12), it feels like it was custom made. Even though it is an undergarment, I find I can wear it out with a simple, longer apron. The fullness at the bottom creates enough "fold" to keep it from being translucent. I order the chemise in white. The show through of undergarments may not even be an issue with the natural or black. I can't wait to order more!!! Thanks for creating such a quality product.

Hi is this chemise the same as the archeress chemise but with different sleeves? Do you use the same linen? I have the archeress in natural linen, thanks
It is a completely different chemise with a different pattern but linen is the same.
Hello, I notice that the sleeves look to be a thicker linen? or is it just doubled?.. Could I get this with the sleeves the same weight/transparency as the rest of the chemise?

Hi Casandra! This chemise can be made of a thin linen only, unfortunately. Cotton is a thicker material and it won't fit and look the same as linen.

The neckline is less wide than on the Helga undertunic. Also please just mention in the comments to your order that you`d like the neckline not to be very wide.
Hi... Is the fabric of the black (colored) version of this chimese the same weight as the natural (colored) one? I have a natural one and it has been very strong and durable. But, I have bought 2 black chimeses from Armstreet (both had trim at sleeves) and the fabric of both has worn through, creating holes under the arms. Could it be that the fabric was a lighter one? Perhaps I mistakenly got the "Light Flax Linen Medieval Underdress" Chemise? If you can make one of the same weight fabric as the Natural colored one, I will buy another. Please let me know, OK? The chemise is made of fine linen, both Natural and Black are fine linen flax, but the Natural one is indeed more strong. Unfortunately, it doesn`t depend on us. At the moment we don`t have any alternative to the black fine linen for this chemise, sorry.

White linen that we use for chemises may be a bit transparent (as it's very thin), when looking against backlight. But this is almost imperceptible if you wear matching colored underwear.
