Short unisex undertunic "Huntress"
Fine flax linen medieval LARP base tunic
This unisex short undertunic provides you with comfort and a familiar fit while blending smoothly into a generic medieval appearance, be it in historical or fantasy settings. Its early Middle Ages look makes it a harmonious part of a variety of early western costumes. This is a straight and unprecedentedly short tunic with a front neck slit, round neckline, and underarm inserts. The shorter undertunic is our response to the requests we've received from people involved in physical activities – less fabric, less restricted movements. And it works great with pants and skirts!
In the XI-XII centuries, it was essential to have at least two layers of clothing, as thin undertunics were pretty much the only option for underwear that protected the upper clothing from weathering and the skin from rubbing against not-as-soft-to-touch materials. The fine flax linen is thinner than what we use for overtunics, and it works best as a base layer. But if your campmates don't mind you strolling around in the underwear, the idea of skipping any other layer while you chill out near the fire, do in-camp chores, or embroider said overtunic sounds appealing, especially on a hot summer afternoon.
Please note that the pattern for this overtunic is based on the male version, so expect a loose fit. We'd appreciate it if you share any fit concerns when placing your order and provide additional information about your stature if necessary.
Please note: the charcoal fine flax linen is much thinner and therefore significantly more transparent than our regular fine linen fabrics.
