The joined chausses are typical for the first half of the XVth century. This design has only three seams. Two rear seams join pant legs, central rear seam joins two halves of the chausses at the backside. At the front chausses are furnished with the typical additional detail - codpiece that is attached to them with lacing. Also lacing fastens rear vents at the ankle for better fitting.
Joined chausses are the transitional form of the clothes between separate hose and trousers. They are made of tough cloth cut on the bias as the wool in this direction is more yielding and stretches almost as knitted fabric. Please note that when you keep chausses in hands they look too long and narrow as soon as put on they stretch and take the shape of the owner. There is a casing in the belt that allows adjustment of the waist for several centimeters. Chausses can also be tied up with the laces, straps or ribbons for better fixation in desired positions.
Please note that dark blue wool has a very dark shade, that may appear black under electric light indoors.

Could you make these for women?
Hello, it is not possible to make these chausses for women, sorry.
Quality and finish are unparalleled, the color is rich and vibrant - each stitch is careful and consistent. I only wish I had opted to get the pants hemmed, as they are much too long - but that is my own fault. Overall very satisfied with both the product and the ordering process.
Are there other colors, or are those the only colors available?

Do you make these pants custom sized or only standard sizes?
We make them in standard sizes only, but we can hem them according to your full height.

Hello Armstreet Representatives, Thank you so much for making the purchase of my black joined hosen so smooth a process! You guys always replied within a day of me messaging you, and were helpful at every step of the way! To those buying this product, The joined hosen are awesome! They need a little bit of breaking in, as I would imagine is regular for such a fitted garment, but seeing as they are flannel wool, they have a lot of give, and are beginning to fit very well to mah' shapely man legs! :P Though the lacing seems to be made of a polyester blend (easy to replace if you're a stickler/nerd like me), the actual hosen are made of great quality flannel/melton wool, are stitched together in a very sturdy fashion, and follow a pattern very similar to the extrapolated historical patterns that we have to work with (as there aren't many extant examples of hosen to obtain a pattern from). Historically, these hosen would be suitable for a skilled labourer or guildsman, or middling merchant, as they are of fine quality material, and are richly dyed, but do not have full feet. They have what is called "stirrup" feet, which is a commonly seen trait in manuscript illuminations for the aforementioned social classes. I will be adding my own feet to them in the near future, which will make for a simple, fun sewing project to go along with my future civilian and martial pourpoint projects, but, if you plan on using footwear anyway, the quality would pass for nobles' hosen any day despite the stirrup feet! Could you make a cheaper version of this? Medieval hose/chausses. This looks nice, but it's to expensive
Dear geedwozer, kindly note that there chausses are made of wool. That is why they are pretty expensive.
Nice ! I live in the Ozarks, and have a lot outdoor winter activities. Mainly wood chopping and feeding live stock, along with hunting. I think these pants would make great warm winter pants for sitting around the cabin and under my coveralls.
Hi, Marc! These pants are made of wool and they are warm. However, we cannot guarantee that they will be warm enough for the cold winter season, unfortunately. They should be comfortable for the temperature above zero degrees centigrade.
Would these be decent for light practice under leg armor? Or would padded arming pants be the best for use in practice and tournaments?
