This festive viking kaftan is the perfect piece for anyone looking to suit a viking aesthetic with a bit of fantastical flair.

This striking kaftan is made from pure white wool, which has a great texture and is soft to touch. We have lined it with flax linen, which will increase the longevity of the garment by absorbing sweat and protecting the wool as well as feel lovely and comfortable against your skin. The two natural fibres look amazing next to each other and make this coat both warm and breathable at the same time.

The whole coat is trimmed in our signature Viking knot-work trim and finished with magnificent faux fur around all of the edges, including the neckline and cuffs. This isn’t your average fake fur - it is so convincing that it looks real. The kaftan closes at the front with a series of leather straps, each embossed with knot-work and quality hand cast buckles with a matching Viking motif. Like all of our other best-selling kaftans, we have used a hand-sewn herringbone stitch is used around the shoulder seams as well as down the middle of the back of the coat, giving it a beautiful hand finished look.

Kaftans were a popular item in dark ages clothing, usually used in combination with or in place of a cloak to keep the wearer warm. We have taken slight creative liberty with this piece, intending to create something that may not have existed, but COULD have existed in some stretch of the imagination. Our kaftan has a flattering cut and flows excellently when you walk, creating a handsome silhouette. To make this a truly luxurious kaftan, we’ve included some knot-work embroidery from the centre of the coat up to the buckles. The embroidery is quite neutral and is not meant to resemble any particular animal or pattern, and would go well with any of our other viking items.
