Yuletide mittens with foldable cuffs
We haven't seen a Viking yet who didn't love these mittens! Whatever the occasion, these will be an eye-catching, warm addition to your event.
You'll never go back to gloves after you've tried wool mittens once. Cold and windy Scandinavian climate has taught Vikings to use those. Try them during these chilly days outdoors, and you'll thank northerners for their amazing invention - a single glove for all the fingers and a separate part for the thumb.
Their pattern is close to the Icelandic Gardar mittens, dated to the 900s approximately. Designed to keep hands warm and dry, they are made of natural wool and fully lined with flax linen and sackcloth at cuffs. Wool makes one of the warmest and most sturdy winter fibers, which can last literally for decades. Highly functional, easy to put on and to take off, yet stylish winter gloves.
Hand-embroidered with contrasting linen threads, Yuletide mittens would be a great gift for yourself, or for a loved-one, and for hanging as Christmas tree ornaments too!

The mittens are fantastic and the green offsets my Yule Viking coat very well. Wonderful product.
Excellent mittens. The green offsets my Yule coat and loos fantastic.
not just the mittens - the whole suit - kaftan - hat - pants - and mittens - so worth the investment and the wait - of course problems with USPS but that is not the fault of the seller - this will be a Santa suit for my more elegant events - excellent craftsmanship - looks amazing - biggest problem now is waiting for Christmas !!
Mittens match perfectly with cape. Haven't used them yet but can see they will be long enough to cover up my arm. I can wear them folded or not. They feel cozy and warm.
great - thank you very much - fit well - only issue was the wrists were a little big - but can easily fix with some elastic in the cuffs - will be great with the Santa coat - thank you !! Merry Christmas !!
Looks exactly as shown. They have this charming oversized look (which I love), and can be easily worn under or over a coat sleeve. There is a lot of room for your fingers to move around in. They are somewhat warm since they are so roomy, and the material is thin (but not so thin as to feel cheap). I love them!
These mitts are huge. Great quality. Came in a bonus pouch too! Thank you!
Who wouldn't love Viking Santa mittens? Especially mittens that are crafted with the utmost attention to detail!
I guess you only make these for men? My hand circumference (measured according to your "how to measure page") is only 19.5cm, way smaller than the S/M
Yes, we make these mittens in fixed sizes only and they are too big for women, unfortunately.
I cannot wait for my first full viking mittens tonight is the night never seen such beautiful stitching herringbone and sackcloth linen is special getting in early for these
Will your S/M viking mittens fit a hand measurement 1)circumference of 9inches, 2)wrist 7.5 inches, and a hand length of 8.5 inches? Can the viking mittens be made with the wine colored wool?
Hi Thomas, size L/XL should fit your better. You are welcome to select custom size option for the mittens and select wine red wool.
Do you have the gloves in red to match the coat? Do you have the tan colored belt with the coat? Thanks!
Hello, we do not have matching gloves, unfortunately. The belt is available here.
Can these mittens be made with the 100% natural wool broadcloth, the same material that my "Viking Kaftan “Olaf the Stormbreaker” coat is made of to match?
Hi Stephen! “Olaf the Stormbreaker” coat is made of canvas. Unfortunately, these mittens cannot be made of canvas.
