Brigandine Gorget “Bird of Prey”
Tooled leather and metal armour collar
Brigandine Gorget “Bird of Prey”
Tooled leather and metal armour collar
Historically, just a few harnesses require gorget, yet now both newbies and seasoned fighters go for upper chest and neck protection. Gorgets were peculiar to the High Middle Ages armour, so if your kit refers to the 14th century or later period, you may wear it over your brigandine, cuirass and other body armour.
The brigandine gorget features distinct shape as composed of two metal pieces - semicircle front portion and tapered back piece, overlapping at the sides of the neck. Stainless steel we’ve used to avoid tarnish and rust is 16 gauge thick for light weight and durability. It’s hand hammered, neatly polished and covered with tooled veg tanned leather. The leather outer shell is attached to the metal with 50 rich one-piece cast brass rivets with flower heads. Has riveted thick leather buckles on each side with brass studs for fastening.
Studded gorget collar provides a great defense to your collarbone area and enhances the look of every outfit. Remember to keep it slightly oiled and dry while storing. Ideal for LARP, SCA, and reenactment when worn together with appropriate padding clothes.
