Our armor is art. So is this stunning gorget collar, modeled after actual designs from the 15th century. It's made in brigandine style to match the conjoining body armour, i.e. consists of metal plates topped with leather. Please welcome an upgraded version of the “Bird of Prey” gorget, fitted with stand-up collar and improved fastener.

The metal core is made of water-resistant stainless steel 1.5 mm thick, which is 16 gauge. Same as the limbs protection, this gorget’s outer layer is made up of a completely unique material - veg tanned leather. Vegetable tanning is performed with oak bark and other hardening agents derived from plants, to impart leather ductility, strength, and exclusive wear resistance. The result is an elastic material, which allows precise forming. Once the tanning is complete, the leather is then dyed manually.

The gorget has been lovingly handcrafted by talented smiths of ArmStreet team and adorned with an ornate medieval-style pattern. The high collar is articulated around the neck for more freedom of movement, making this SCA and BOTN ready. Both flower-shaped rivets, dowel pins, and lock pins for easy fastening are cast brass. Leather straps to fix the pauldrons are included. Your throat deserves better than a threadbare mail coif!
