Errant Squire Arm Harness

A brilliantly basic XV century stainless steel arm harness

The Errant Squire is a man of his word. He may dream of being an adventurous knight and of going on grand adventures, but he’s also reliable, intelligent and trustworthy. Hard working, he started at the bottom and worked his way to where he is now. While he’s often caught daydreaming, and imagining the kind of valiant future he’s creating for himself, he is always found by his knight’s side, waiting to jump to attention and complete any tasks necessary.

This set is made from basic pieces of armor with solid construction, and is intended to stand the test of time. We imagine The Errant Squire Collection to be the type of set that a knight will one day pass down to their own squire after it's been well used. Crafted from 16ga (1.5mm) stainless steel with 18ga (1mm) articulated plates, this arm harness will hold up in combat and protect you well. Stainless steel is an excellent choice because it is much easier to take care of than mild steel – a simple wipe down with a dry cloth after practice will be sufficient to prevent deep rust and keep it lustrous. Though this set is basic, we still construct it with the same care and attention to detail as our fancier sets. This means we’ve used sturdy leather straps, solid brass rivets and cast brass historical buckles to ensure the best possible construction.

The bracer, articulated elbow and rerebrace are all riveted together, giving this harness an excellent, uniform feel. The slightly thinner overlapping plates ensure the articulation is smooth and flawless. An enclosed bracer custom made to your wrist size means that you’ll be completely protected no matter how you swing your sword. We’ve also improved on the flexibility of this harness but adding sliding rivets to the top of the bracer section, giving you an amazing range of movement with your wrist. We’ve improved this harness from previous models by adding reinforcement around the hinges, making them much less likely to cave in and adding durability. There rerebrace is designed to fit flawlessly under our matching Errant Squire Pauldrons, which completes the arm protection and is sold separately.

While this arm harness is great for a beginner, if you’re looking for something a little bit fancier you may want to look to “The Paladin Collection”. It has the same XV century style and features as The Errant Squire, but also includes ornate etching and details.
