Leather viking bracers with etched brass accents

These bracers are part of our "Viking" collection. Bracers are made of genuine leather and decorated with beautifully etched brass accents and shield boss shape decorations. Two straps has handmade molded clasps. Bracers are trimmed with decorative leather border. These bracers will be a great part of your viking armour or outfit.

Did the Vikings use bracers?

The whole topic of leather armor, and leather bracers, in particular, is very controversial. while the whole Viking culture perception is deeply affected by modern interpretations. We have little to no evidence of leather armor in Northmen culture, which is logical because not too many textile and leather pieces survived from the period. However, from what we see regarding clothing and other leather pieces, Vikings mostly used metal armor, and leather armguards and bracers are mostly interpretations of metal pieces that existed. Nevertheless, we know a lot about Viking visual culture and decorations, so our interpretations, while having an obvious fantasy vibe, are based on existing styles and designs and could be used as practical pieces or accessories organically coexisting with other parts of Viking costume and armor

Please note, forearm size for these bracers should be taken lower than usual, 6 in (15 cm) higher from the wrist line.
