This semi-fitted chemise is made of thin unbleached natural linen. It can be put on with most medieval dresses or even worn on its own.
Classic Gothic silhouette (typical for the European feminine fashion of the XIII-XIV centuries) emphasizes breast and waist while softly draping hips. Long and wide sleeves can be adjusted to any length up to biceps with the help of drawstring casing.

This is a really lovely piece! I am about 5' 2.75" tall and athletic, but very curvy. I normally wear a size 6-8 in most clothing. According to the chemise size chart I am a size 4, so I was a little nervous about the fit. I tried it on and it's perfect! The torso is somewhat fitted without being difficult to get on, the skirt flares beautifully, and the hem sweeps the floor just a little. The natural color is a little darker than it looks in the sunlit photos, which is great for those of us who do not look good in white. The "CHOOSE COLOR" picture is very accurate. I love that it’s more opaque than I expected. The sleeves are gorgeous and so elegant! The entire chemise is extremely well-constructed and the fabric feels very sturdy. I showed my sister and she liked it so much that said she may also get one. This is a chemise that I think will look good on all different body types.
My first Armstreet piece and it surely won't be my last. The sleeves are so versatile and pretty. I keep finding new ways to style them. I was very curious to see how long they'd make the dress, since I'm a very tall woman, and they did it so well. Long enough but not too long, all the same length when worn, swirls around beautifully. So glad I got to send in all of my measurements to make sure it would be a perfect fit, which it really is. I couldn't be happier with this piece!
Love the sleeves and overall shape on this chemise, and how many ways you can wear the sleeves; long, gathered, ends tucked back into overgown sleeves, tucked into a belt... the possibilities are endless! The linen is very comfortable and breathable. And doesn’t add bulk under other layers. So happy with the workmanship and look of the piece; such a constant for anything from Armstreet!
Linen Chemise “Archeress” I purchased this chemise to go with the Archeress Linen Dress. I have worn it to a few LARP events as a set, as well as to a few photography sessions by itself and paired with a few of my boned bodices. The overall fit is exactly as you would expect from an Armstreet item, and the construction is as beautiful as always. The draw strings on the sleeves work perfectly to gather the length out out of the way, but also don't stick when releasing them. Thank you for all of you dedication to quality and detail.
It was my first order here and I wasn’t disappointed ! It fits perfectly even in big size and the linen feels so soft on the skin. I always want to dance and turn around when I wear it because it have a lovely flow when you’re moving. The sleeves are so pretty and can actually allow me to shoot with a bow. I is a little see-through (I get it in white) but I still can wear it by itself and it gives an ethereal effect that works even better with my costume !

Ordered this custom-sized, twice - one in natural color and one in black. It's such a versatile piece. Of course it looks fantastic as intended under the Archeress dress, but is also truly magical on its own. (I recommend subtle undergarments, though, as the material is slightly thinner than in an overdress. But it's not obnoxiously see-through.) The drawstring sleeves are a brilliant idea, flawlessly executed, making the chemise more practical while keeping the medieval/fantasy look. If you're even considering buying one of these, I'd say go for it. You won't find anything as high-quality for the price point anywhere else.
My besties and me got this very chemise as ritual clothing for celebrating the sabbats and we fell so in love! They all fitted perfectly and they flow so nicely! We are especially in love with the sleeves! I saw a comment on the german website saying 'it is seethrough in white' I can not confirm that! We had no issues, maybe because we avoided dark underwear in the first place :)
Got this chemise in two different colours. The black one was customised with trim on the sleeves and hem to match my Mistress of the Hills corset in custom black. I use it for more of a dark/gothic vibe. Natural flax colour is perfect for my Archeress dress, but can also be modified for a steampunk outfit. It's such a versatile item, I just love it!
I have this chemise to go with the archeress dress and it is lovely. I like the drawstrings on the sleeves. I have worn this multiple times. Its even pretty and ethereal on its own.
My first Armstreet chemise. It's lovely looking and the construction is spot on but the sleeves are just as impractical in actual use as you'd guess looking at the picture. I ordered this in natural flax linen and it's great! I love the cinch up sleeves and how I can wear it underneath something or by itself.
I got this dress a year ago for an event and it's one of my favorite dresses. The linnen is so soft and lightweight and it's both suitable as an underdress but also worn on it's own.
I got this chemise when I got my Archeress dress and I love it! The sleeves give it a hint of fantasy but I don't find them cumbersome or that they get in my way (and I'm the type to try all the axe throwing, archery, or other games at a faire!). Overall a well made piece and one I plan to wear for years.
I originally ordered the Archeress costume, but once I put this chemise on I realized how versatile it could be. I ordered a second one! The sleeves are fun, but they can be tied back out of the way. The construction and quality is top notch. I really wouldn't have ordered another if I didn't love it! My first was custom sized, but when I bought a second I purchased it from available stock. The quality was excellent but the fit was not as great. To be clear, it still fit, but it was slightly more roomy but I was worried it wouldn't fit if I ordered a size down. I'm tall and thin. So now I know that ArmStreet really does an excellent job tailoring to your measurements for custom orders but the garment will still fit if you order from stock.
I wanted a dress that I could use as a blank canvas to add to as I went to festivals and started adding accessories. This dress was perfect. The neutral color looks good with so many colors and can be used as a base for different outfit pieces.

The photos make the dress look like it is fitted at the waist, but it was very large on me and just hung off of my chest, making me look larger than I am. I am planning on purchasing a corset to wear over it that will hopefully make it more flattering. I ordered a size 6 and I have a large bust (41 inches) and small waist. The size 6 was too big on the bust as well as the waist and hips. I may also try pinning the back of the dress with safety pins.
Dear Sarah, the dress is not fitted at the waist. It should fit loose like on the pictures. Our size 6 should fit 41" bust and 36" waist. If the waist is smaller than indicated in our size chart, the dress will fit loose. In this case, we recommend to order custom size clothes.

I bought this chemise and it just arrived today. I'm completely in love with it. The fit is amazing and so flattering (I was a little worried as I'm not as petite as the model). The fabric is a little thinner then I expected but very 'real' looking and brilliantly made. The cut and length are just perfect. And the sleeves? Simply stunning. What is the difference between the size 0 and 2? I’m a 33” bust and 26” waist and I’m not sure which size to order.

It can be also added on the sleeves, but the designer doesn`t recommend it since the trim will be too heavy for the sleeves like these.

Two questions: 1. When ordering size 12, since I'm 5'11", do I simply mention that to have it made longer? 2. I wear a size 11 shoe if fitting true to size, but my calves have always been large, so if I order a boot that has lacing in the back, I should measure the largest part of my leg below the knee and you can cut the leather large enough so that when I lace it up there will be no gap showing on the back of my leg?

Hi. I was hoping you might have some information about for your mediaval flax linen chemise that goes with the archeress outfit. I've a cosplay in mind and I would need to dye it a deep or bright red. I'm wondering if the color would matter if I am going to dye it. Such as linen might be harder than white.

The more linen is washed, the softer it gets because the fibers are broken down during the washing and drying process. You may use a conditioner for natural fabrics for fabric softening. Rinse your linen dress thoroughly to avoid stiffening due to detergent residue.

It's machine washable, use 40°C (104°F) water for wash in gentle mode. To prevent tarnish an alkaline solution or color safe laundry detergent should be be used. Extraction (spinning) in delicate mode to simplify the ironing. Please don't use hot drying and do not pre-soak linen clothes.

I Love this one! But there's something I don't understand: it looks like the waist is quite nipped in, but I don't see any kind of closure on the chemise...How is it possible? is it just an effect of the photos? Is the fit loose enough too be put on without a closure?
The chemise has semilying silhouette, it's pullover style (no buttons, no zipper, just pull it on over the head). Fabric cut on the bias actually has more give/stretch to it.

White linen can be transparent (as it's quite thin) when you look at it in the light. But this is imperceptible if you wear a matching colored underwear.
