Natural linen dress with short sleeves
Slim fit bodice of the tunic emphasizes breast and waist while wide skirt with 4 additional gussets drapes with soft pleats. All this combines into well-known medieval silhouette of the XIII-XIV centuries.
The skirt is hemmed with the trim as well as sleeves and neckline. Also the trim is used to decorate the lacing fastening at the fore part of a gown.
Colour of the trim can be selected according to the desired colour of the dress.
Chemise is not included but available separately in our store.

I do not like the lacing on this dress. The lacing is supposed to be "hidden" behind the trim but it gaps around the bust area even when tightly laced. I also wish they would have used metal lacing rings (like the Townswoman dress) instead of cord loops, one of my cord loops did not get properly sewn down and I had to hand sew it. Lacing similar to the Key Keeper dress would have been more successful.
I just got mine today in the stunning midnight blue with the blue trim. I was blown away when I first unpacked it and I have to say as a woman who's blessed in the bust area I really appreciate the front lacing as this item may not have fit without it. It's more fitted then the tunics I've purchased in the past. Mine is paired with the Medieval XIV Century Chemise in natural. And since I never see any feedback on this: Your clothing is wonderful as day to day clothing. I've never done an event or been to a faire. I just love the middle ages and armstreet has everything I've always wanted in a medieval wardrobe. The quality is amazing and I've become a huge fan of linen. Thank you for everything so far and I look forward to what I get in the future.
I told myself for quite some time that I “didn’t need to get this dress — I can’t just get every Armstreet piece I love...” And then ended up purchasing this dress in navy anyway. It’s totally worth it, as is everything from Armstreet. The quality unmatched, as always. I love the hidden front closure, the dress shape, and trim placement. I haven’t yet gotten to wear it for an all-day event, but even short-term it’s very comfortable — not to mention sturdy and low-maintenance both to wear and care for. Really love it!
Linen Dress “Archeress” I purchased this dress in 2019's Halloween Trim (Limited Halloween Bloody Thorn Trim) and Black along with the Archeress Chemise . I've worn it to a few LARP events and plan on wearing it to more events this year. The trim is beautiful, as always the garment is constructed with great attention to detail and lifetime wear, and area of lacing is strong. I cannot wait to wear this dress again. I've worn this dress to Renfest so many times I've lost count. Once, it was in mud up to my ankles. The flax linen weathers beautifully, and looks even more authentic as it ages. Plus it stays cool in steamy weather. The skirt is so full you'll want to twirl in it. :)
This was my first LARP purchase, and is still a mainstay in my kit to this day! I’ve worn it for many different looks and it’s so versatile. It’s great for cold nights when layered up, but has also helped me survive boiling hot days at LARP fest events that I’d otherwise have just about melted at. Would highly recommend!
I got this one in red burgundy and can I just say I love it! It goes well with and without the matching underdress. I'm especially a fan of the hidden front lacing!
This dress is so versatile and comfortable. I got it with the chemise, but it can be worn without one and still look fabulous. A perfect option for a Renaissance fair, elven cosplay and so much more.
The linen is beautiful - the quality is beautiful. The lacing in the front is "slippery" so be sure to tie it tightly. The skirt is long for short people but love all the fabric. I use skirt rings to tack up the fabric. I have this in burgundy and it's stunning. It has stood up to multiple wears. I usually wear my own corset with this and gets compliments every time. I also love love love this with the chemise.
I fell in love with the Huntress costume a few years ago when I ran across it on either Instagram or Pinterest. I love the Ren. Fest. & thought my oldest should have her own costume. This was perfect. We got the Red burgundy with the red trim. Size 4 I believe. It fit her wonderfully!
I purchased the Archeress dress a while back for a Larping event as part of my character's new kit and hoo boy did I make an excellent choice. I've been in love with armstreet's selection for a while, adding this dress to my collection was honestly the best thing I could do. Sizing was amazing. I'm about 3X in women's clothing and I bought it in a size 12. It fit comfortably even with a chemise under. It's perfect for both cold and hot weather. And the coloring is absolutely beautiful.
This was my introduction to Armstreet and the initial push down the rabbit hole. My friend gave me this in green with brown trim, with the matching chemise and bodice back in 2015 (might have been 2014, can't quite remember) This is a work horse of a dress that holds up very well to wear and tear over all, from the invasion of muddy beaches, (I hiked up the skirt a bit, I'm not actually crazy XD) to tree climbing, to the day to day chafing of all sorts of random things worn hung from straps and belts for days at a time. The cut of the under arm seams means that that particular area is a little fragile, but I was lucky enough to get a bag in the same colour linen as the dress and have used pieces of that to reinforce, and repair those spots over the years. I did change out the standard trim to the "lady hunter" one later on, and I really recommend choosing it as a custom option if you want a slightly more luxurious feel to it. I put broad lady hunter trim along the hem, sleeves, and rounded part of the neckline and narrow "Lady Hunter" trim along the lacing. DISCLAIMER! No Armstreet does NOT sell trim separately, the "lady hunter" trim was taken from one of my other Armstreet robes that I'd changed the trim on to one I'd woven myself.
This was my first Armstreet purchase in navy, and I have since bought a green one too. Perfect for combat with a basic chemise, can be dressed up with layers, and remains comfortable with plenty of movement. I adore the huge skirt, the shape is so flattering, and as always the linen is beautiful.

I ordered this dress "Archeress" in green with brown trim for my daughter for Christmas and it is truly beautiful! The fit is perfect and the dress looks lovely in the green linen - she has worn it every day this week. I also ordered the “Sunshine Janet” tunic for underneath in natural with the same brown tim and it goes quite nicely with the Archeress Dress. We also added the bracer and the dagger belt - both a big hit. I could not be more pleased with my purchase!! As Christmas crept closer we stayed in contact by email with the Armstreet and they were quite helpful at keeping us posted as to the status of the dress - and ensured that it arrived in time for Christmas. Just got the dress today. It is gorgeous! My first purchase from Armstreet. It's as wonderful in person as the pictures. I will be a returning customer! Although will probably buy custom size next time because the fixed size was a little too long, but still beautiful.

I ordered this in burgundy with the matching chemise, and it's beautiful! The burgundy is a deeper, richer red than pictured, and looks stunning with the trim. The skirt is nice and full, and the dress easily laces up at the front. All-in-all, a stunning and comfortable outfit that's great quality.

I just received my dress yesterday and I am very, very happy. I also purchased the under tunic and belt along with it. I ordered the red burgundy color with red trim. It is very red, not a wine color as pictured, but I still love my dress all the same. The measurements are perfect and they are a hearty, quality material. The front bodice laces like a corset, so you can adjust the fit tighter or more relaxed. Beautiful garment, I look forward to purchasing more!

Hi Belinda, size 0 should fit fine. However, if you like loose fit, then it is better to go with size 2. Pre-made items can be exchanged or returned, but shipping cost is covered by customer (unless shipping protection is paid).

Well, yes it can be worn without chemise, but please note that the dress itself has short sleeves. Also, it has front lacing, so we`d recommend wearing something like T-shirt underneath anyway.

I purchased the archeress dress and wanted to know what the wash/care instructions were. Thank you
Linen clothes is machine washable, you can use machine wash in the delicate mode at a temperature no higher than 30 degrees (30°С=85°F). Presoaking is not recommended. To prevent color fading, use detergent for colored laundry. Do not use bleach. Do not use hot tumble drying. To avoid shrinkage use the shortest spin cycle and dry items flat, away from sunlight. Clothes made of linen is easier to iron when fabric is slightly damp. Linen requires the iron to be on the medium to high heat setting. Turn the garment inside out to protect it from the heat of the iron.

The only way to get it with the long sleeves is to add a pair of long fitted detachable sleeves, same as on “The Alchemist's Daughter” dress, for $35 extra. Please be sure to provide your elbow, forearm and wrist circumferences and mention preferable color for the sleeves in a comment to your order.

Usually we recommend this dress in Green with Brown or Blue Archeress trim; if you're looking for the silver trim - we can use silver Celtic trim or silver Forest Princess trim. Both of them can be applied for $10 extra.
I am thinking about ordering this dress in red wine or burgundy, but having a little trouble choosing. I read a previous comment which says the dress on the model is burgundy, but that colour does not really match the colour swatch. Could you say which image is more true to colour - the model's dress or the colour swatch? Thank you for all your help.
The dress in the pictures and the swatch of Red burgundy linen are the same, but color shade can slightly differ because of screen color rendition distortion.
Wine red linen is brighter, while Red burgundy linen has cooler and more muted shade.
I can understand from the comments, that only narrow trim is possible for this dress. So I am wondering if there is anywhere where I can see your collection of narrow trims?

The "Autumn Princess" trim is too wide for this dress, sorry. We can put it along the neckline, sleeves and along the bottom of the dress, but it's too wide for the front slit on the bodice.

How do you tie up the sleeves as in the picture?
The sleeves of the chemise can be adjusted to any length up to biceps with the help of drawstring casing.
I just received the beautiful Archeress dress. What is the recommended fabric care? Can I wash it or must it be dry cleaned?
The dress is machine washable, use 40°C (104°F) water for wash in gentle mode. Use color safe laundry detergent. Extraction (spinning) in delicate mode to simplify the ironing. Please don't use hot drying and do not pre-soak. To avoid shrinkage use the shortest spin cycle and dry the dress flat, away from sunlight. Clothes made of linen is easier to iron when fabric is slightly damp.

2) Wine red dresses are the kirtle and the Alchemist's Daughter; there are no violet dresses on the site, sorry.

Hi, I am aware that it is possible to order this dress with detachable sleeves as for the Alchemists daughter, but I was just wondering whether these detachable sleeves could be made without the cut-outs? I.e. a full/whole detachable sleeve?
Detachable sleeves - doable, $35 extra. We'll need your elbow, forearm and wrist circumferences. However, even with those measurements, it's a risky thing to produce whole sleeves remotely without any fastening - we can do this but no claims on this matter would be accepted, sorry. Hello! I noticed in a previous comment that you can do detachable sleeves. Is it possible to order the dress with the sleeves so the tunic would not be necessary? Faire comes during the warm season and I'm afraid that two layers would be too much. Thank you!

Hello. I have previously bought the underdress in linen to the Achress dress. I was planning to make the dress proper myself since it must be in grey. However I am pressed for time. Unfortunately we don't have any grey linen, sorry. This dress cannot be made of wool, as you said, it's too thick for the dress.

Yes, can be made in violet with narrow purple-peachy "Lady of the Lake" trim for $15 extra, or we can put wide trim along the hem (sleeves and neckline can be made with narrow trim only) - for $35 extra.
hello im thinking of ordering the dress and chemise but concerned about the length im not a tall person i think just 60inches can they be made so they're not dragging on the floor like just to my ankles as i like to were them as normal casual wear with a difference and also to events how dark is the brown the violet and red i mean is it red or dark red are they dry clean only?

The chemise has semilying silhouette, it's slim-lined due to its pattern/cutting only.
