Viking natural linen trimmed dress
Traditional T-shape linen tunic decorated with contrast accents, exclusive trim and colored jute and woolen cords. Ancient costume silhouettes of northern soldiers and lady warriors did not differ much.
However, we tried to accentuate the beauty of the female figure, as much as viking clothing allows it with its free and floating cut. Quite spacious at biceps and narrowed to wrist sleeves make it possible to be engaged in any daily chores. Wide skirt reaches the ankle and does not “sweep” the floor, does not limit the step and emphasizes feminine silhouette.
In ancient times not only clothes served to cover the body, protect from the weather and express social status, but also it served as a magical cover and talisman. Therefore, the ancient Scandinavians carefully decorated their costumes with lacing, embroidery and special decorative seams. It was especially important to “protect” all open sections - the hem, sleeves and collar - because it was believed that through these “gates” evil spirit could penetrate a person.
We paid special attention to this issue in our design. The neck and the sleeves are trimmed with a contrasting linen tunic and narrow trim with traditional Scandinavian ornament. Hem is also decorated with two rows of trim (specially designed for this costume), contrasting fabrics, woolen cord matching the trim and jute cord matching the ornament on the trim.
All these details and accents will make your character expressive and unique and will make you feel a dozen centuries younger.

This is my dream dress! Beautifully crafted of olive green linen, with red and black trim accents. I chose the Night Wolves Trim instead of the Pale Wolves, and am loving this darker combination. The dress looks and feels wonderful with my Eydis undertunic. As a 5’5” woman, this dress skims the tops of my feet when barefoot. But with a belt and boots, the length will be perfect. If I order this dress again, I might do it custom, just to get the length slightly shorter. I absolutely love this tunic! It's currently the favorite piece of clothing I own. I've worn it to both a summer and winter Renaissance festival, and with proper layering it worked perfectly both times. The linen breathes enough that I was comfortable in the summer, and with a warm cloak and long underwear, was just as comfortable when the temps dropped below freezing. I got the Natural Flax color with Red Burgundy trim, which makes it easy to pair with multiple apron colors. I'm eagerly waiting the Red Burgundy to come back in stock though, so I can get it in other color combinations. I wish I could get away with wearing this in my everyday life!
The dress is expertly made and lovely. The fabric is and trim are quality grade. I chose the green so I wouldn’t need to wear anything under it in the hotter weather. It is roomy enough to wear under garments in the winter but not over sized that it looks awkward. I chose this dress specifically because it was the only one that didn’t drag the ground in the photos. I hope there will be more styles in the future that are ready to wear that the length comes to the ankle instead of ground. This is the 3rd dress I have ordered from Armstreet. I’m alway pleased.

I love the dress, it's heavy and feels of great quality, however, I'm pretty sure I got sent the wrong colour because it looks more like the Walnut Brown swatch than it does the Olive Green, and I had contacted ArmStreet regarding this matter and had a reply, but nothing since they said they were requesting information from the designer and seamstress over a month ago. I should have gone down a size as well as it's a bit too big, but as I'm a 45" bust and 40" waist I thought it best I go for the 12 rather than the 10. It was much too long for me (5'5"), the waist is quite baggy and the arms were so wide. I'm luckily in the position to alter it myself though, so I've taken the arms in a bit and hoisted it up at the waistline so that I wouldn't ruin any of the decoration at the bottom.
Perfect dress its much heavier then i though it fits great i am 5'4 and got a size 4 it stops at my toes i do have a 33 waist and its a bit snug but fits great will in the future purchase this again.

I love this dress! I didn't expect to be able wear a ready made dress as I'm both tall and full figured, but after consulting the size chart I decided to take the risk and I'm so happy I did! I'm 5' 9" tall with a 40" bust and normally wear a USA size 16 dress, but the size 12 Eydis dress fits perfectly with a little room to spare. The fabric is excellent quality, both thick and sturdy and the banded trim vibrant and carefully applied. Overall an A+

This is, perhaps, my favourite of all the tunics (eight or nine) I have purchased from Armstreet, over the years. Something I have experienced, especially in the more recent garments, is the tendency for the underarm gussets to shred after a comparatively short time, despite careful laundering and air-drying only. Perhaps a second layer of fabric in the gusset would add to its longevity. Many Thanks!

I got this dress for me wedding. It was comfortable,warm (we got married to n November last year), and it made me feel beautiful and powerful, when wore it.
I'm not sure if the dress I got was this or the Ingrid dress - I can't find it on your website. I bought it from your tent stall at Rowany Festival 2017, and it is stunning. It is a light/natural linen, trimmed/accented with dark red linen at the neck, sleeves and hem, with gorgeous trims (Celtic knot and dragon trims) and blue jute cord. It is astonishingly comfortable, fits me beautifully, and is very flattering; I made a red apron dress that I usually wear over it. I absolutely love it.
My husband ordered me this dress in olive. We work in a viking village at a renaissance faire, and so many of our members own Arm Street dresses. We put a LOT of wear and tear on our clothes and for the price, Arm Street’s quality holds up the best. I will definitely purchase again.
Absolutely gorgeous. The green is even better than expected (and it is hard to find a good green) in person. The fit was a surprise, I'm a little heavier but the size chart did not lie and I love it. There is much more skirt than expected and twirling is too much fun. The trim work (the second reason I bought this) survived it's first wash and is so pretty. It keeps this from being just a plain dress. I'm going to turn this into a shield maiden cosplay with help from my husband who is into leather crafting. My only issue was waiting for it to ship. Which they do warn you about, so I can't really complain. Will happily buy from here again.
I bought this tunic for an historical educational reenactment group I am part of to wear. I did get this dress custom because I am a very tall person. This dress not only fit perfectly it was very comfortable. The event was during the summer and since it was made from linen I didnt overheat. I also was working in it over an open fire... It did get very dirty with food and other dirt. I had to wash it after every weekend and even after that it held up very well.. I have owned this for over 3 years now and still going strong.. The only complaint that I had was the red trim did bleed when washing it in cold water. This did stain the dress around the trim and gave it a pink tint. I ordered the natural linen dress with the Red burgundy trim.
The quality of this dress is really great. Everything is double stitched and it really looks like it will hold up to some heavy wear. The color of the fabric and the trim is true to the pictures, and it is soft and the linen is soft and breathable without feeling cheap or thin. I intentionally bought it a size up because I've had bad experience (not here) with materials shrinking in the wash more than what it was supposed to, but this washed well and only shrunk a very small amount if any. Luckily my mother sews, so the bagginess can be corrected, but next time I order something here (and I'm sure there will be a next time) I will save her the trouble of alterations and just trust the website size charts and care instructions! Overall very impressed and pleased, thanks Armstreet!

The beautiful, green "Ingrid" tunic, and splendid apron, arrived two days ago, and I am delighted with them. I do have a question: how much shorter is "Eydis", than "Ingrid"? They appear to have similar lines, only that the former is not so long as the latter. Is this an accurate assessment? Many Thanks.

Although the dress is designed to fit short hemwise and in the sleeves, it might be still too long for you in a fixed size, unfortunately. You can select a custom size option though and we will make it according to your repsonal measurements.

Yes, we'd recommend ordering a custom made dress as the fixed sized dresses are made for the full height 5' 6" (168 cm), should fit fine to the full height 5' 5" – 5' 7" (165–170 cm).

Great looking products but . . . what do you do for plus size people. People sizes do not stop at size 12. I only glance at your site occasionally because there is nothing here for me. I shall keep up the ocasional checking in.
Our sizes are different from European, UK and US size systems. Please check our size chart to make sure that none of our fixed sizes fits you.
Also you can always choose custom made dress - just switch to the "Custom size" tab and enter your actual measurements so the dress will be made specially for you.

Please check our Clothing care guide. It's machine washable, you can use machine wash in the delicate mode at a temperature no higher than 30 degrees (30°С=85°F). Presoaking is not recommended. To prevent color fading, use detergent for colored laundry. Do not use bleach. Do not use hot tumble drying. To avoid shrinkage use the shortest spin cycle and dry items flat, away from sunlight. Clothes made of linen is easier to iron when fabric is slightly damp. Linen requires the iron to be on the medium to high heat setting. Turn the garment inside out to protect it from the heat of the iron.
