Fencing HEMA Pants "Futura" 350N

Well, it's been already three or four years since we started working on the HEMA fencing product line, but these pants are the next level of our gear, a result of several years of our research and development department work and more than two years of testing. And now we are doing what we are known for - expanding the horizons and applying more than 20 years of gear-making experience to this product, making it to the next level.

With more details coming later in the video, let's focus on common problems of existing design and how we solved those.

Sizing. From the experience of our fencing teammates and several A-tier fencers we partnered with, a good fit is one of the things that makes your fencing experience smooth and pleasant. We designed a completely unique inseam pattern to make it comfortable to lunge and ran dozens of tests to make an adequately centered knee section in a way that your knee cops stay in a proper position when you fence.

Protection. A reasonable balance of flexibility and protection is usually a main goal of every gear-maker – we made it one step further and united both things without a compromise. Coming from our armor-making experience, external pockets cover most of the thigh zone, with splinted sections filled with EVA plates. These plates already provide essential extra protection but can also be removed for lighter contact disciplines like small swords or light rapier. They can be replaced with harder plates if you want even more protection for the full-contact long sword and heavy saber. Our testing samples have made it through a dozen international events by now and fought in several saber and longsword finals, so we are happy with the feedback and performance. These pants' construction includes a layer of 350N-rated fabric inside.

Design and style. ArmStreet is known for being on the fancy side of everything, so our pants have a good fit with size-adjustment velcro waist straps, stylish borders (in dual-colored versions), supporters with subtle black-on-black ArmStreet logo and pattern, and a lot of smaller details that come from our clothing-making experience. 

Universality. When most fencers have their own preferences and weapon specialization, many of us also do several disciplines, so having gear that can be comfortably used for everything is essential. All the features, from size adjustment to mounting loops to replaceable protective plates, were designed to make a one-for-all solution for historical fencers.
