I always heard that the Dark Wolf was a man of few words. Quiet, intense, and known to attack in the dead of night and win almost every battle, stories of him are told across our land with equal parts fear and awe.

If you’re looking for armor that feels like an extension of your own body, “Dark Wolf” is exactly what you’re looking for. We aimed to make something that would move with you and give you protection without holding you back like most heavy, cumbersome armor. This collection is lightweight, brutal, and purpose-built for combat - we hope that you love it as much as we do.

Most of the pieces in this collection are loosely inspired by the XV century. That is to say that for the most part they’re fitted and articulated as opposed to being bulky and one-size-fits-all. We imagine these pieces to be something that would be worn by a more wealthy knight or nobleman, as opposed to a regular man-at-arms.

ArmStreet has been well known for making high-quality gauntlets for a number of years. We sell an absolutely huge volume to the SCA market and are always taking feedback on board to make every set even better than the last. What we present here is our most updated version, purpose-built for fighting. They work very well with a number of weapons – from single-handed steel swords to polearms and rattan. The shape of the fingers and thumb wraps perfectly around whatever you choose to use, meaning you can switch it up in battle without having to change your hand protection. These gauntlets are more like a clamshell gauntlet than a finger gauntlet and do not allow you to individually move your fingers.

The shaped fingers of the gauntlets are quite well dished and give you a lot of coverage, including at the ends of your digits. Articulation across the wrist means that they’re very flexible and move with you, and a padded mitt glove included underneath means that you don’t need to look for an additional liner.

For this collection, we’ve used spring steel, an incredibly light and strong material. The downside is that spring steel is much more work for us to forge due to the hardening process but creates an amazing product that is maneuverable and strong. Lucky for you, we were happy to put in the work, improve our skills, and master forging this kind of steel so that you can have the best product possible. We aren’t kidding when we say that they feel like an extension of your body, just like your sword should as well!

These gauntlets have been solidly constructed using high-quality materials such as 1.2mm and 1mm spring steel, solid rivets, and leather. Each pair is made with care to ensure that the best product possible makes its way to you. By default, these are blackened with some polished steel accents, but can also be ordered with brassed accents or in plain blackened or just polished spring steel as well.
