HEMA leather basket hilt
Stick fencing hand protection
HEMA stick fencing basket hilt
Wax-hardened leather hand protection
Stick-fencing is one of the most fun "official" HEMA disciplines. It's a perfect way to start historical fencing, and using a stick as a sparring replacement for a sword comes back into history as far as a sword itself.
While rattan sticks need to be replaced occasionally, most fencers come to a point when they want to own all the tools they fence with, getting used to the weight and geometry of each particular weapon.
Obviously, there are cheaper options to protect your hand, and we also offer a plastic cup hilt as a basic model, but if the "Historical" part of HEMA makes your heart beat, the leather basket hilt is what you need.
