Medieval style boots are an important part of any medieval or SCA character`s garb. You look amazing when your costume is complete. And these leather shoes will be a perfect addition to your appearance. They are authentic and comfortable at the same time.
Shoes are made of high-quality leather and have three leather belts with clasps. The original brass accent makes their look exceptional.
An outsole is made of 100% natural hard leather. It is historically accurate and also looks and feels great. Upon request, authentic soles can be reinforced with the modern anti-slip rubber outsoles to prolong the service time of your loved shoes. This option is free, just mention it in the comment to your order. Rubber is also less slippery so it is better for any type of fighting practice.
Historical reference:
These leather shoes have simple but functional design typical for shoes of medieval times. In general, they relate to late Norman period. Current shape was prevalent for most norman shoes but leather belts with clasps instead of lacing are typical for the later period. We add three leather belts and brass ornament to make these leather shoes unique.
The outsole was made of hard leather and sewed to uppers with waxed flax or silk thread. Our shoes are made by the same technology but we use additional glue soaking that makes thread stronger and then hides the thread into a cut in the outsole to prevent it from fraying.

Also, you should remember that natural leather is soft material and it will stretch so when you are getting your shoes it is normal that it fits very slim. It will get your feet shape after one or two days of usage.

Purchased these for use in an early medeival ages outfit, and they are excellent. Very well made, and had a very good fit, I would certainly recommend these. A word of advice when ordering shoes, always make measurements of both your feet and use the larger of the two, as I found I had measured the smaller of my two feet, so the right shoe would not buckle. Fortunately, the shoe straps had length to spare, so I added a couple extra buckle holes, solving that small problem.
Quick question about - https://armstreet.com/store/footwear/brown-medieval-leather-shoes-with-brass-accents ... could you make these in dark brown with an extra 4-6" in the shaft, and NO locket on the from - just plain leather? If so, can you tell me what the price with shipping to the US would be? Thank you!
Yes, the shoes can be made of darker brown leather (as shown here) and without the locket, simply add a comment to your order. Unfortunately the shaft of these shoes cannot be made higher, sorry. If you need the mid-calf shaft, we can offer the Medieval Leather Boots “Armor-Bearer”, they can be made of darker brown leather too.
I need to have an orthotic insert. What should I do to measure correctly?
Simply mention that you're going to wear orthopedic insoles in a comment to your order. Please take measurements using our guide and watch the video at the bottom of the page before measuring yourself. Please take the measurements over the socks that you're going to wear with the shoes.

Please measure your feet w/o the insoles, just check how to measure yourself here. Add the sizes of the insoles (length and width at the widest point) in the comments to your order.

The shoes are custom made from scratch in accordance to your measurements, not modified.
Hi! Do you think these would go with your women's viking costume? Or would classic norman handmade leather shoes suit it better?
Both models will work, Classic Norman Handmade Leather Shoes should match the Vikings costume just perfect as well. They have simple but very pretty and authentic design.

By default the soles are made from 100% natural hard leather.
Optionally you may require modern rubber outsole.
Are these boots suitable for outdoor use? Pavement, grass, dirt, ect?
Yes, we recommend to order them with the rubber outsole, if you are going to use them on modern hard roads.
That maximum size you can do?
The maximum US sizes are 16 men's and 12 women's, or equivalent.
Please check your shoe size using the footwear size chart.
