“Sellsword” practical armor kit
WMA/HEMA Harnischfechten low weight set
“Sellsword” practical armor kit
WMA, SCA, HEMA Harnischfechten lightweight armor
The concept behind this kit was straightforward. We aimed to create a practical kit that serves multiple purposes: suitable for SCA, WMA point-based sword fighting, and HEMA harnischfechten, which means it’s a reasonably weighted armor that covers the most vulnerable areas. The kit comes in several modifications, allowing you to either purchase a complete one and add some extra pieces or build a full kit from scratch by combining several available options. The standard set we offer here is the following:
- 4-piece segmented pauldrons;
- Arms with elbow cops;
- Breastplate;
- Greaves with knee cops.
Some other pieces that we didn’t include intentionally are the following:
Helmet - the helmet presented with the kit is an appearance piece, so you need to select one of our practical combat sport helmets, depending on the intended use of the armor. Check our HEMA harnischfechten helmets and SCA heavy helmets if this is what you need.
Gauntlets - gauntlets are essentially connected to the sword-fighting format you do and the weapon you use. So while our spring-steel clamshell gauntlets are the obvious and the most common option, other gauntlets could work better for your case. The choice is very wide.
Gorget - you can see two options that go with the armor as a preferred choice, but you don’t need a gorget if you’re wearing the armor for non-combat purposes. We encourage you to add one of these two gorgets to your order if you wish.
Also, we didn’t include the cuisses (thigh armor) in the listing, but those are available upon request. We will add them as one of the options as soon as we take the pictures. Our Medieval Rieneck Armor Legs is a good reference for how cuisses will look with these simple knee cops.

Medieval Martial Arts are, by their very nature, dangerous and ArmStreet is not responsible for any injuries sustained by persons wearing their armour during the course of such activities. We cannot stress enough the importance of proper training, armour, weapons and knowledgeable supervision during these activities. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the wearer and their opponent for the safety of the participants.
