Classic Western Pauldrons
Medieval combat spaulders with segment
Classic Western Pauldrons
Medieval combat shoulder protection
Typical 14th-century design with main plate covering the shoulder itself and several overlapping segments providing the flexible protection for the biceps was elaborated with several overlapping segments up the main plate. This improvement allows the completely new level of freedom for movements with your hand risen above the level of the shoulder. The minimalistic look arranges the versatility in terms of combinability with other parts of your armour set – in the absence of prominent decorative elements those spauldrons can be matched literary with anything. Just select the polishing to fit the rest of your equipment.
The shoulder protection is made of stainless steel accurately shaped elements connected with the help of rivets and leather joints. It is furnished with the reliable leather strap at the biceps and has holes for fixation on your underarmour padding. The upper and bottom edges are nicely curved inwardly. The listing is for the pair of pauldrons.

Just beautiful...I am a longsword Hema practitioner that was looking for added shoulder/arm protection for tournament (s); these pauldrons weigh next to nothing on your standard SPES 350N jacket. I DID have to consult a full steel fighter regarding proper Mountings and sewn my own attachment (s), but within an hour I now have permanent fixed ties they can now be attached easily and without help for other people. I can even lift my arms above my head for easy overhead guards and Fiore/German master strokes (an initial concern). Thank you again armstreet for another over the top quality product (Hema practitioners! Check out the steel clam shell gauntlets! Now in my 3rd year of full time practice (and no my thumb hits).
Have had these for years and they still hold up no matter what they go through. Best purchase I've made, bar none.
Armor came exactly as described and am quite pleased with workmanship. Thanks!
Are there any other arm pieces that would match with this?
Hi Bailey, yes of course! Black Knight arms or Errant Squire arms will work.
That coat of plates is beautiful , shame you don't still make it.
Hi Ryan, we do make this gambeson. It is available for purchase here.
Do you do any blueing (since it's mild steel), and if so, how much extra would that cost?
Unfortunately we do not produce any blue-finished, blackened or darkened armor for technical reasons, sorry. Thank you for your understanding.
I have ordered these along with a gambeson, I will need them custom sized as I have a slight frame, I've sent an additional email explaining this. My understanding is you will be able to calculate the measurements of me in the gambeson so as to fit the pauldrons. Is there anything more I need to do, this is my first order hence I'm rather anxious to get the process correct.
Of course, we'll add some room for the gambeson, please don't worry. Simply add a comment with the measurements to your order.
Is the Gorget displayed in the images with these pauldrons available? I can't find it anywhere on the site.
The gorget can be made for $135.00 from 1.5 mm (16 ga) cold-rolled steel. Upgrade to 16 ga stainless steel is available for $40 extra. Shipping costs $34.00.
Hello, are the "Medieval Combat Pauldrons Spaulders Arm Armor" also made to measure? I need them for a small lady, so stock items wont fit at all... Best regards, Frank
Yes, one-size, which is suitable for most customers (men). We can make them smaller, just add a comment with the measurements to your order:
- shoulder length from neck to external point of the shoulder
- chest circumference measured along bust at widest point through the nipples
- biceps (upper arm) circumference measured at widest point
Please check how to take measurements here.
Does your company offer the option to make multiple payments on products?
Yes, we can divide your total amount into two payments if needed, please email us at contact@armstreet.com.
How much would it be to add vertical plates to these? Also, would they worsen the flexibility and manueverability?
Vertical plates (as here) - $25 extra. This should not reduce maneuverability, but note that such elements may be prohibited for use in some societies of historical fighting.
How do these spaulders attach to the gorget? Is there a set of these?
The pauldrons should be attached to the shoulders on your padding/clothing with the laces sewn to the garment, not to the gorget.
We have no set consisting of these pauldrons and gorget, sorry.
Just a quick question. The coat of plates in the picture. Do you make this product? And if so at what price? Zane
We don't produce the coat of plates any more, that model was excluded from our range, sorry.
