Originally, rashguards emerged in water sports, serving as a thin layer of protection against UV rays for swimmers and surfers. These light, decorated shirts with bright prints quickly found their way into martial arts, allowing fighters to train and compete without the annoyance of wet clothing. 

They are also popular in HEMA and other sword-fighting sports for many reasons - the layer of polyester with spandex provides two-way protection between your body and your heavier gear. It reduces temperature swings by channelling water off your skin. And, last but not least, rashguards just look cool!

Our particular rashguards not only look cool but also have some extra specific features for under-gear use: we chose a thin and very elastic fabric that works the best in terms of reducing the chance of overheating and has very flat seams. It is crucial for long events - this rushguard will help your body a bit with thermoregulation, reducing both overcooling and overheating. In addition, it protects sensitive skin areas from chafing caused by contact with gear.
