This dress is our version of European medieval ladies casual costume.
I want to say few words about this excellent fabric which is one of our favorite. Flax linen is 100% natural, looks very authentic and gives great heat protection; it's light and dense at the same time. The design looks simple, but it's very well thought-out and looks great on almost any figure. There is long lacing along back and sleeves.
Please note, the dress of size 6, 8, 10, 12 has the side bust darts for better shaping. Also, if the difference between your bust and waist circumferences exceeds 9 13/16 in (25 cm), the dress won't fit tightly.
You can order this dress complete with skirt and chaperone.

I got an Orange Elise. It is perfectly wonderful! The orange is super vibrant and so different from my usual dark attire. I combo this dress with brass belts to give me a more fantastic feel. I love that this comes in so many colors. Can't wait to try more!
Bought this on a whim while purchasing another dress, and I really like it! The linen feels excellent and the sleeves are lovely. Small warning that the shoulder area can be a bit tricky--tore a big hole when my sister drew her bow for the first time. (Though that might be my fault for tying it wrong? Or maybe, like Merida's dress in BRAVE, it wasn't made for archery.) Will be mending that shortly. But otherwise, great!

Oh my gosh!! This dress is more amazing than I even dared to imagine. I ordered the wine red and the color is so deep and vibrant and gorgeous! I'm pretty small at 5'4", 105lbs, but have broad shoulders (15 inches across) for my size and the Size 2 fits me perfectly, other than being just a tad bit too long (which is easily fixable). I wore it outside in the wind right after trying it on and oh my goodness gracious, I felt battle-maiden epic. Tomorrow or the next day I am going to try on my full outfit for an event in June and do my hair up - I can't wait! I have a feeling I'll be a repeat customer at Armstreet for a long time!

I ordered this dress in burgundy two years ago and I love it! It’s simple, but beautiful and quite comfortable. Mine is cotton, so it’s easily washable if you take the lacing off. It was custom made and it fits perfectly. Will be ordering again in another color soon! Thank you Armstreet!!
I love the simplicity of this dress. The lacing adds details and interest while still leaving the dress simple and versatile. It's quite comfortable and I've worn it all day! I have it in midnight and the colour is just as shown, deep and beautiful. I've worn it with Armstreet's "secret garden" belt which is a perfect combination, but I also love wearing it with a hand woven belt I picked up elsewhere... I can't say it enough, it's a perfect versatile dress!

I looooove this linen dress! It's effortlessly flowey and cool. I have only worn it once to a medieval fair in autumn and due to the adjustable lacing it was still comfortable with layers underneath it. I look forward to wearing it in summer.
I bought this dress as a base layer for a LARP costume and it's perfect. The fabric is light. It's comfortable enough to wear all day. I ordered mine with a custom fit and it's perfect. I'm very tall and have trouble finding sleeves that are long enough, but this dress did not disappoint. I was also happy to see that the color was identical to the advertised color on the website.
I absolutely love this linen dress. I own three of them. I have the green with brown trim (secret garden), the yellow, and the blue (both Red Elise). I also own the chaperone and linen apron dress that go with Red Elise. I live in hot Texas, but I love to wear medieval dresses, so the fact that these are 100% linen is wonderful! I never sweat, and the sleeves protect me from the sun. I exclusively wear my medieval dresses regularly (including some from the renaissance faire). I love the way the linen is aging (going on about a year of wearing Red Elise), I get TONS of compliments (I wear these dresses to Walmart, to a romantic sushi dinner, and as my business casual outfit. They are modest, 100% linen, and so unique no one knows how to categorize my clothes haha). I even wear my dresses camping. (I use my skirt apron to protect my dresses around the campsite). I've figured out a way to wash this dress without having to take off all the lacing. I loosen the lacing enough so I can remove the dress, but I tie the ends of the laces so they don't pull out. Turn the entire dress inside out, and tuck the sleeves into the BACK LACES. This is the best way to wash it so that your laces don't tangle, tear, or pull. When done, I turn my dress right side out, check the lacing, and hang to dry. (I've also put these dresses in the dryer. They will shrink about 15%, but I wasn't affected much by shrinkage. When you order, if you give exact measurements, your dress may shrink beyond your fit in the dryer. I'd recommend getting it tailored locally after several washings if you don't like the fit.

Very happy with my purchase I have ordered before and I will order again I want one in every colour! Good quality and perfect for when I am at my stall at Medieval Events. I am UK size 10/12 a size 4 fits me perfectly once the lacing has been pulled in at the back. I get lots of compliments. Only down side I have to shorten the dress length and sleeve length but I am only 5' 2" in height.
Bought this dress and absolutely love it. It looks exactly like in the photos and even more stunning to wear in person. It works perfectly for medieval or renaissance settings, though it was quite long for my 5'2 size, but hemming it was a breeze and not a big deal.

I love this dress. Simple, elegant and versatile. I am not a small person and measure 5'9". I was still able to order one of the pre-made dresses. It comes to my ankles, rather than sweeping the floor, which makes it perfect for my LARP costume. And the fit allows you to move around without it tugging at the arms. It is perfect.

Hello, the fabric does not stretch but the dress has lacing on the back that allows to adjust the size. Size 10 will fit you well.

Hello, I would like to order a custom size wine red flax linen Red Elise, but I have a few questions. Do you need the arm length measurement? I measured and mine is 23 in. Also, my height is 5'4 and the the length of the dress seems to be quite long according to the standard information. I measured myself from the shoulder to my ankle and the length was 50 in. Is there a way to make it for my height without it trailing? And finally, does the flax linen material wrinkle? We can make the dress in custom size for you and adjust the dress length. Please simply place the order for the custom dress and send us your measurements in the order form. Arm length is not needed. Linen material wrinkles a lot so cotton might be better for you. We do not have red cotton color but we do have burgundy color which is basically dark red. Please simply leave a comment to your order that burgundy cotton is required instead of red linen.

Technically it is possible, but we strongly don`t recommend that as the White linen is quite transparent and the dress will look like an undertunic, basically. The look will be similar to this chemise.

Hi Ariel! There is no difference in the cut for these two models. The difference is that the Bridesmaids dress has trim on the sleeves and hem and this one doesn`t. You can mention your arm length in the comment to your order. You can choose any of the shipping methods, but please note that regular shipping to Canada might take a bit longer than 21 days and tracking number doesn't work properly (basing on our previous experience with Canadian post). Express shipping will be very fast and reliable, on the other hand. But it`s up to you. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions!

The Dark blue cotton is similar in colour to the Midnight blue linen.

The tunic "Red Elise" is it customary to be worn by itself? And can it have another tunic underneath it? For instance could you put the tunic "Sunshine Janet" Underneath it?
The tunic Red Elise is meant to be worn by itself. Both tunics have lacings on the back and on the sleeves and they both actually go as full-fledged dresses.

Hello! I am shopping in advance for my daughter's Halloween costume this year, & I happened upon your web site. My daughter is only 3 and a half years old, but I am hoping to find a unique costume for her this year. I would like for her to be a Medieval Princess version of Cinderella, perhaps before she went to the ball, so possibly still in a peasant outfit. I thought this dress might be lovely for that? Her little sister, who will only be 10 months come October, is going to be a little pumpkin...so I thought it would be fitting, as she could be the pumpkin that turns into Cinderella's carriage! How much ease does this dress have? The reason I ask is i would like to be able to practice archery in the dress. I previously made my own dress, and the sleeves literally ripped off when I raised my arms to shoot (imagine Merida in Brave at the archery competition, that was me, haha)
We add enough space for active movement, but for shooting still recommend dresses with short sleeves, such as "Archeres" dress, "Forget Me Not" and Franks dress.

How rough is the flax material? My daughter has sensitive skin and I don't want to get her a dress she can't wear (she's almost 11 and we are wanting to get mommy daughter dresses).
Tactile perception is very individual, but natural fabrics are always rougher than synthetic. Linen we use is soft and flowing, its density is 1.30 - 1.35 g/cm³. You can use any conditioner for natural fabrics for fabric softening.
Can this dress be made with the ribbon trim around the bottom and sleeves?

Is it possible to make the dress in the black flax but with the gores in white?

It's difficult to tell in the photos but in the dresses with this style neck line is it possible to wear a regular bra and not have the straps show? If not can you make the neck line smaller so that a regular bra can be worn?
